Turkish defense contractor Nurol Teknoloji's new-generation ballistic solutions are contributing to the development of armored vehicles, equipment and structures.

The company produces nano-scale powder metallurgy, an inorganic ceramic compound produced by very few countries in the world. In view of its durability, compressibility and reliability, it can be used to make lightweight armor systems superior to other products on the market.

Technical ceramics composed of boron carbide, silicon carbide, alumina and titanium diboride are used to produce light armor structures with higher protection levels, and can be used for armor products with composite fabrics. Non-metallic technical ceramics have a lower density than steel, high chemical resistance and high thermal shock resistance.

Armor products require different ceramics, depending on factors such as weight and cost. Therefore, ceramics can be produced by various methods, such as sintering or using composite powders.

Nurol Teknoloji has been producing advanced technology ballistic ceramics since 2008. In addition to alumina, silicon carbide and boron carbide ceramics, it also produces tungsten carbide, which is a hard and brittle ceramic that combines with cobalt to a certain extent to form a tough ceramic metal for civilian use.
